We had a wonderful week exploring the life and ministry of Jesus. Following our daily Bible study, we experienced a part of that study through a daily trip.

On Tuesday our theme was He Came to Us as a Baby where we acted out the story of the nativity. We visited a farm where we met and pet some of the same types of animals that were witnesses to the birth of Jesus.

On Wednesday, our theme was He Worshipped God and Helped People. Our Bible study took us into the Sanctuary, where we heard the story of 12 year old Jesus teaching in the temple. Then we talked about Jesus helping Joseph with his work as a carpenter. We visited Home Depot where we learned about different types of wood and we had a chance to build a birdhouse.

On Thursday, our theme was He Showed God’s Power. We learned about the miracles that Jesus performed including when He walked on water and calmed the sea. Our trip that day lead us to the water where we took a boat ride down the Anclote River out into the Gulf of Mexico.

On Friday, our theme was He Died and Rose as well as We See Him in the Least of These. We read the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus, and we learned how we see Jesus in all people. We visited the Alzheimer’s facility at St. Mark Village where we sang songs and gave to the residents the blankets and crosses that we had made for them during the week.
