This year 19 campers and 6 chaperones headed out on Saturday, June 21st for our trip to Camp Lutherock located in Newland, North Carolina.

Our first stop was at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Walterboro, South Carolina. The members of Good Shepherd have graciously hosted us for the past 8 years. We spent the night at Good Shepherd's social hall playing games and singing songs. On Sunday we attended their Sunday Bible School class given by Kevin Wicker. Following Bible Class, we attended their worship service which was presided over by Pastor Nancy Oliver. Campers Devon Root and Kelly Roberts sang a song at this service.

We arrived at Camp Lutherock around 5:00 PM on Sunday June 22 nd. Everybody was pretty tired from the long journey but also very excited to start their adventures.

The 19 campers then split up into their respective groups. Some were in the 3 day whitewater raft group, some were in the 3 day hiking group and the rest were in the Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP).

The Outdoor Adventure Program included a day of whitewater rafting on the Nolichucky river, a day of caving, a climb up to Cross Rock, and numerous other outdoor activities.

While there was plenty of physical activities that kept the campers busy there was also a lot of time set aside for group devotions, prayer and worship. Everybody had a great time growing not only physically but more importantly, spiritually.

Many thanks go out to the chaperones who tended to the flock and made sure they arrived home safely.

This was the logo for this year's Camp Lutherock trip. The logo design and the T-Shirt fabrication was done by Karen Bacher who also was a chaperone on the trip. The handprint is an actual handprint of the campers mother, father or gaurdian. The handprint reminded the campers that their parents/guardians were with them spiritually while they were away at Camp Lutherock.
